Ed Lee Among First To Receive License
Last Tuesday, 26th August was a red letter day for well-known North County businessman, Ed Lee. Ed, who is the proprietor of Fingal Pest Control, was presented with a Professional Pest Technician licence at JC’s Supermarket, Swords in recognition of his dedication and commitment to his profession.
The award was made by Brendan Ryan, who is Director of the Irish Pest Control Association (IPCA), who told the County Leader, “Much of Ed Lee’s knowledge and expertise has come from his full participation in the aims and objectives of IPCA. His company has been audited regularly, to ensure that he is fully compliant, and has always secured a clean bill of health. This ensures that his company is always up to speed on new products, new techniques and any other changes that emerge in the industry, including legislative changes,” he said.
A delighted Ed said, “This is a great honour to be one of the first people to receive this licence from the IPCA. It’s a proud day for me and I hope to continue my top class service to my many customers here in the North County,” he said.
We are only about 18 months away from stringent new legislation, which will see the government set new regulations for pest control. This is seen as necessary, particularly in the light of the disturbing numbers of red kites and other rare birds of prey, that have fallen foul to secondary poisoning on farms across the region.
One of Fingal Pest Control customers, Michael Savage, Managing Director of JC’s said, “We have dealt with Ed and his company for many years, and his service and diligence is second to none. He richly deserves this recognition,” he said.
